Update

Mom is home. All is good. She has to take her meds and see her doc tomorrow.
All is good in the world again.

Today's blog update is simple.
Two topics.

My mom isn't feeling well and is going to the ER just to have herself checked out. I hope and at the same time know, that she will be OK. But it is still rather scary, we know what the problem is, she is on meds, I just think that the problem was a bit worse than we thought. Although, she is in a good up beat mood. I expect she will be released today and maybe her meds will be dosed a bit higher. However, now Xavier cant have his much anticipated sleep over with Grams tonight and he will be devastated. But, this too shall pass.

I have been thinking about good "eye candy" which is usually almost always Brad Pitt or Angelina for me, however, not limited to them, but just the first who come to my mind. Recently, I have seen Half Nelson and thought "WOW, Ryan Gosling, who knew?" Then the other night I watched The Notebook, (I know, I know, like 2 years behind, ugh, I know!) But I watched it and OMG he is beautiful. Not just because in the movie he is the man every woman wants but because he is that and soooo much more, he is (what I have been diggin lately) the white boy with a really small dose of bad ass in him. The new found interest had prompted an immediate Google search with many yummy results Please observe the following:

Hope you enjoyed them as much as I did. Whew. I prefer the longer hair, scruffy faced ones, but hey I certainly wouldn't pass on the pretty boy ones either.

I couldn't decide if this post should be called Christmas List

or "Reasons I shouldn't have had kids"

Somehow, the first suggestion seems a lot less mean and a whole lot less WRONG. So we will go with that. Christmas List, yeah, mmm hmmm....

So here goes, these are things that I have been dreaming of lately but am too broke to buy myself. (why? because I have kids- ha. I kid, god, lighten up) Feel free to steal anything from this list and mail to me, give me or stick under my tree this season. Because I know what they say about it being about the "giving" but I think we know that "getting" is pretty damn awesome!!

Yes I realize that the majority of the list is shoes, but hey my feet go every where with me and I like to keep them looking fresh with every step they take. I will update my wants from now till Christmas, just to keep you all in the know. haha.

Somewhere while searching something

I came across this web site called http://www.morphthing.com/ and it is the funniest site. You can upload your own picture and morph it with celebrities. So being the Angelina hound that I am I morphed us together to see what (if we ever could) our child may or may not look like. The results my friends, were not good. :(

The faces of DSCF3055 and Angelina Jolie combined together -

How could she make me look bad? UGH. No, Im kidding, it is not surprising that I made her look bad. But I did look pretty good when morphed with Antonio Banderis...

No? You dont think? Ok, Ok how bout... Drew Barrymore.....

DSCF2841 and Drew Barrymore -

Ahhh hahahahhahahahahah! I don't think it works. Maybe, something is wrong with the morph~inator?

Yo Gabba Gabba

So a while ago I got an e-mail from my friend about a new show on Nickelodeon called "Yo Gabba Gabba". She said it was supposed to be all sorts of good and that it was created with or by Biz Markie. Now being a child of the 80's I am all sorts of familiar with Biz. So I thought, hey why not? I set up the DVR to record it and it has been musical and educational entertainment bliss since. Now here is the thing, they teach practically everything in song with some schweet beats in the background. So the boys really enjoy it. The sing about nap time, eating healthy, respecting peoples space, brushing your teeth, saying sorry... you get my point. Anyway, this morning Zach was sitting on the couch very tentatively watching this clip.

OK, now picture baby Zachie doing it "pbbb ha, pbbb ha" uh huh, that's right over and over. I almost died. Not to mention him and the dancey~dance, portion of the show is another adorable source of entertainment.

Some of my favorite music right now

In no particular order includes:

  • Kings of Leon- Because of the times
  • Suffrajett- Black Glitter
  • Feist- The Reminder
  • White Stripes- White Blood Cells
  • Johnny Cash- The Legend of Johnny Cash
  • Scissors For Lefty- Bruno
  • Scissors For Lefty- Underhanded Romance
  • Juliette & the Licks- You're Speaking my Language

Constant rotation. Steady stream of play. Also, I always try to play "dinner" music, for this Feist is very sufficient. She is a bit up tempo, soft voice and her slow songs aren't slit your wrist-ish. Also Scissors For Lefty- Underhanded Romance is good dinner music, however it makes the kids very dancey~ dancey. Another quick one is Van Morrison-Moondace ((ugh)) perfect dinner music and just chill music.

HIGH SCHOOL MUSICAL!! AHHHHHHHHHH!

Yep. We went to High School Musical on Ice. Zoe and Xavier were so excited, like every other screaming boy and girl in Nassau Coliseum. Over all the performance was both HSM 1 & 2 in about an hour and a half. The cast was great however, no fake Troy could ever look as good as Zach Effron. (come on you know he is really pretty, right?) Oh and the dude who played Chad (in the movie he is played by the handsome Corbin Bleu) had the same curls, but oh my god was he NOT working them like the "original" Chad. Very unfortunate. (dorky mom, yeah, I know) Considering I too know every song from both movies, I found myself really into it. But at any rate me and my ma had a great time with the kids. They had a great time and a new memory.

By the way I love Xavier's shirt. So does he, but Zoe gets her feathers all ruffled every time he wears it. I think its great simply because it is barley ever her who is to blame.

Why would I give YOU candy?

Today I was awoken with a big belly bounce! yeah, ah huh. He belly flopped me in my sleep! When I opened my eyes fearing that I was under attack, he was jumping and flopping all over me saying "I want candy! I Want Candy! I WANT CANDY!"

Whoa. Slow down little lad, I couldnt decide if I wanted to kick him or just get him in a headlock! I peek over at the clock and it was only 7:27am. ugh. Are you kidding me? It is SATURDAY!!

Oh and by the way, you ain't gettin no candy. Not now or for the rest of the day.
Yes, I know, you can call it evil. I call it payback! mwah-ah-ah.

Good times fly fast...

Well this Thanksgiving certainly flew by fast. I cant believe it came and now its gone. Whew. Now Christmas is right around the corner!?

I have a theory about that. It goes like this; GLOBAL WARMING.

Yep that is right! I said it! All this jazz being talked about polar bears and wildfires only further removes us from the fact that the temperature is still so mild in the fall. Then pushing back the change of day light savings time. Halloween spent with no coats or darkness. You get so caught up that you don't realize, even with Halloween coming and going that it is that time of the year already. You see, (global warming) leads the holidays to creep up on us and then sucker punch us in the face..... ugh! Now I've got to run around like a chicken without a head to get gifts for the kids, family, dog, friends and plan Xavier's birthday party!! And my 2 year old has the nerve to walk around screaming "Not Fair" HA!

Well enough about my theories.

Thanksgiving was nice, but quiet this year as practically my entire family was separated. Something that never happens. So that was different. But all in all it was good. Zoe, prepared the turkey and stuffing in its entirety. Way to go little lady, as I type here before you, a 31 year old woman who has never cooked a turkey, no less prepped it and basted it for hours and hours. She really was proud of herself and she SHOULD be. The turkey was delicious. yumm, yumm, yumm, yumm. (cookie monster style)
At any rate, the day was very nice so my mother, myself, Zoe, Xavier and Lily (our dog) took a nice long walk. The backdrop was stunning with leaves littering the grass and streets. ugh. To die for. When we returned Zachary was still asleep just where we left him and grandpa was still watching TV, just where we left him too.

A weekend of R&R, pffft yeah right........

To good times!! Every one needs a little R&R right? Well I had a blast on my weekend off from motherhood. (thanks for taking the kids mom) Tara and I attended 2 Juliette & the Licks shows with Scissors for Lefty (whom we love) Juliette is an amazing, give all performer. Both nights she just completely gave her all and to be quite honest with you, it must be exhausting to do that. After my two nights of partying like a rock star, I became thankful that I don't live that life daily, as it truly is too much for me.
Ps. The boys up top are Robby Garza (in the back) and Bryan Garza. Lead singer and lead guitarist of Scissors for Lefty. Cool Cats. Check their myspace.

WOW I'm really bad at this keeping up thing.....

Sheesh. A whole year and 2 months? Come on? What is wrong with me? Oh, I'm busy, oh yeah that's right. I almost forgot.

Wow, well lets see, in the last year we went to Disney, 2 Halloweens passed and a bunch of birthdays, um, the cabin upstate, Zoe started 4th grade, Xavier lost some teeth and started kindergarten, YEP that is right!! One more and they are ALL in school. Woo hoo! Zach is currently in daycare and loves it might I add.
Cant wait till hes in school that would mean: liberation from paying for daycare. N-I-C-E!! Anyway here are some updated pictures of the family. ENJOY!!
